Federal Government flags changes to residential aged care fees
For the first time, the government has suggested that nursing home fees will increase for wealthy couples. No details have been released but the news has been received as a welcome shift in policy by the aged care industry which supports uncapping the fees in some areas while maintaining a safety net. The Minister for Health and Ageing is refusing to speculate further prior to the May budget.
