Fair Work rejects changes to community services award
Fair Work Australia has refused the
application by the AFEI to vary the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability
Services Award to increase flexibility for employers.
The
variations sought included:
- Removal of
employees' entitlement to superannuation while absent because of
work-related illness or injury;
- Extension of the
span of hours for broken shifts from 12 to 14 hours;
- Allowing employees
to agree to an eight hour gap between shifts, instead of ten;
- Including a
new "live-in houseworkers" classification.
FWA
decided there had been no changed circumstances justifying the proposed
variations.
