A new version of the Government's Aged Care Australia website will operate from 1 July 2009. It will enable the public to gain easy access to information about sanctions and notices of non-compliance issued by the Department against Aged Care facilities.
Despite concerns being raised by Service Providers, Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot confirmed in the ABC's Four Corners program aired on 1 June 2009 that the website is to go ahead. The Minister had previously stated that the publication of this type of information will improve consumer choice and assist the public to make informed choices about Aged Care.
