Kirinya Khamsone, Associate
Kirinya graduated from the Australian National University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws.
In
2006, Kirinya served as the Associate to the Honourable Justice Kate
Holmes of the Queensland Supreme Court of Appeal, following which she
joined Carne Reidy Herd.
Since then she has practiced extensively
in the areas of employment law, discrimination law and general civil
and criminal litigation. Kirinya has conducted matters in the
Australian Industrial Relations Commission, Fair Work Australia,
Queensland Anti-Discrimination Commission and Tribunal, the Human Rights
and Equal Opportunity Commission and the Federal Magistrates Court.
She regularly advises and represents employers, unions and employees in
relation to issues such as termination of employment, redundancy
situations, compliance with industrial instruments, award flexibility
arrangements, restraints of trade, wage rates and grievance and
disciplinary procedures.
Kirinya's criminal practice includes representing clients in matters such as traffic offences, assaults and workplace fraud.
Kirinya
combines her employment and criminal law expertise to provide strategic
advice in situations where these complicated areas of law overlap.
Between
2008 and 2010, Kirinya managed the firm's Central Queensland Office in
Rockhampton and also served as the Secretary of the Central Queensland
Law Association in 2009.
