Margaret Arthur was admitted as a solicitor in 1986 and is an accredited family law specialist.
 
Margaret was formerly the solicitor to the Seniors’ Advocacy Information Legal Service, a community legal program providing legal advice and representation to people aged 65 and over concerned for their personal and financial security.
 
Margaret has advised and represented clients in a broad range of matters including applications to the Guardianship and Administration Tribunal, recovery of property and assets from family members and issues surrounding aged care accommodation. Having spent many years as a family law practitioner, Margaret is an experienced mediator however holds a practical recognition that some matters will require a solution through legal remedies.
 
Margaret has a strong interest in promoting the rights of older Australians and advocating for changes that will make the complex issues that come with aging less challenging for family members.
 
Margaret is a part-time member of the Children Services Tribunal and a member of the Legal Aid Family Law Chairperson panel.
