Joanne was admitted as a solicitor in 1991 and has extensive experience in the legal profession in the public and private sectors.
She has an extensive practice in the aged care and retirement village sectors encompassing clients from both the private, church and community sectors.
In her aged care practice, Joanne provides advice to approved providers on all aspects of aged care encompassing compliance and operational issues as well as commercial and strategic positioning. She has extensive experience in assisting approved providers to deal with complaints and the complaints investigation scheme.
Joanne has published chapters in legal texts dealing with accommodation and care options for the elderly.
She is also experienced in advising the Boards of not-for-profit organisations on a range of issues including:
- Reviewing and improving Constitutions
- Organisational restructuring
- Converting from one legal structure to another
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Tax endorsements
